Put in the daily work to avoid them (do a daily written commitment or exercise, pre-plan and commit your food plus pre-pack food). 2. When you feel the urge to binge, look at it clinically. Remain dispassionate and do not get worked up emotionally, because that adds more power to it. Observe the urge and then simply dismiss it! This is KEY. 3. Realize that binge urges are meaningless - they are neurological junk resulting from a simple bad habit. They’re not something that means you need deep therapy to find out why you want to binge. You can do that if you want to, but it likely won’t stop the urges or teach you how to overcome them. 4. Realize that binge urges are powerless. They are driven by your lower brain and your higher brain is in control of your body, so your lower brain can NEVER make you binge. 5. Realize that binge urges are harmless, they’re there to protect you because your lower brain thinks you need to binge to survive.
