Scale goes down as steps go up

Walk with me after dinner as I muse about some of the steps I’ve taken (pun intended) after losing 50+ pounds. I credit a regular fitness routine of strength training plus walking, HUGE credit to the carnivore and/or ketovore diet I’ve been doing for quite some time since 2024, and nonstop learning from those who have had weight loss success before me.

About This Video

In this video, I’m out walking after dinner doing one of my newest habits: evening steps. I’ve lost more than 50 pounds, and my channel is basically me documenting what’s working (and what’s not) in real time. Right now, “what’s working” looks very simple—two laps around my street, about 15 minutes. I picked it up from the Glucose Goddess tip to take a short walk after dinner to help with blood sugar, and honestly it’s been a game-changer for my daily step count. I used to sit at a desk all day and barely hit 4,000–5,000 steps, and now I’m usually closer to 8,000. I also talk through the fitness side of my journey—how I started a year ago with Beachbody On Demand (Four Weeks for Everybody) and worked my way through other programs until landing on a quick 25-minute strength-focused routine. To level up my walks, I’m experimenting with ankle weights and even carrying little one-pound Pilates weights in my pockets, plus I’ve got a weighted vest on the way. On the food side, I’m losing weight mostly through carnivore (sometimes ketovore with a little veg a couple times a week). I also share my mindset tools—like deleting social apps when I notice they mess with my mental health and trigger binge eating. And yes, I’m transparent about semaglutide: I’ll use a tiny dose occasionally as a tool when I’m super bingey, but I’m not on it weekly. My biggest takeaway: start small, go slow, and let habits snowball.
