This video is my first ever reading vlog slash “hang out with me for a week,” and it starts with my family trip from Connecticut to Pennsylvania. We stayed in the cutest little cabin on a farm/animal rescue (hello horses and goats), and I brought along the ultimate cozy summer read setup—porch time, bonfires, s’mores, and squeezing in chapters whenever I could between kid life and activities. I also gave you a quick cabin tour and shared the very real mom moment of my regular glasses getting crushed, so I was basically living in prescription sunglasses for a bit. Reading-wise, I took you along while I worked through 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand. I loved the segmented “summer-by-summer” structure, the Nantucket setting, and the stream-of-consciousness vibe, but I’ll be honest—it felt a little long and drawn out for me, and I didn’t really resonate with Mallorie, so I landed around a 3.75/4. Then TikTok picked my next read: Powerless by Elsie Silver. And yep… it did the classic Elsie Silver thing—super bingeable, easy to fly through, and it gets a little filthy. Jasper totally worked for me (quiet, broody, tortured soul energy), and while it’s not life-changing, it was the perfect palate cleanser.
