About This Video

In this week-long reading vlog, I’m sharing a super realistic look at what I read in a week as a busy mom—homeschool mom, work-from-home mom, two little ones, all of it. And I’m doing it a little differently: not just my personal reads, but also the books I’m reading with my kids (because we truly read a lot in this house and it’s a huge part of our family culture). I also share how I actually fit reading into my days, especially in a season where I don’t have much sit-down time. My main personal reads were The Names by Florence Knapp and These Summer Storms by Sarah MacLean, and I talk through what they’re about, my reactions as I go, and my final ratings. The Names gave me literal goosebumps—three alternate realities based on one naming decision, and it hit me right where it hurts as a mom. These Summer Storms brought the peak family drama (billionaires on a private island, inheritance tasks, secrets spilling), and the audiobook made it so easy to keep moving through it while I did dishes, laundry, and mom life. You’ll also see some bookish extras: a bargain book haul from a library bookstore (yes, I grabbed kids books even though I told myself I wouldn’t), plus our next family read-aloud—The Wild Robot—complete with the tracker I made and a comprehension novel study we started because we were just excited to jump in.
