In this video I review the brand new THIEAUDIO Hype 4 hybrid IEMs and compare them directly with the Hype 2 that I previously covered on my channel. Hype 4 is a 6‑driver-per-side hybrid (2x 10mm dynamics + 4 balanced armatures), with beautiful 3D-printed resin shells, metal nozzles, a solid detachable 2‑pin cable, and a very complete unboxing (case, silicone + foam tips, cloth, warranty). I also talk fit and comfort in detail: the shells are large, but the shape feels like a semi‑custom for me, and with SpinFit CP145 the comfort gets even better. Sound-wise, my main takeaway is simple: Hype 4 refines what made Hype 2 so captivating and fixes the small things I wanted improved. You get a boosted sub-bass that doesn’t bleed into the mids, a flat (sometimes a bit sterile/dry) but clear and engaging midrange, and a treble that’s more airy, better extended, and more detailed without becoming harsh or grainy. Technically, Hype 4 wins on depth, layering, imaging, and overall sonic realism, and it even works great for gaming. For me, it’s one of the best IEMs under $500—pricey, yes, but absolutely justified if you want that “closer to Monarch” style tuning without jumping all the way to Monarch MK3.
