In this video I review the Meze Alba in-ear monitors and break down everything that matters before you buy: unboxing, design/build, cable, fit, sound, and real comparisons. Alba comes in two boxes, and I like that Meze includes both a 3.5 mm cable and a USB‑C dongle DAC for phones without a headphone jack. The shells are zinc alloy with a glossy pearl finish and a conch-like shape—honestly one of the most aesthetically pleasing designs in this price range, even if the finish is a bit slippery in hand. Sound-wise, Alba is a mildly V-shaped, colored tuning that stays coherent and lively. I get excellent sub-bass extension with fast, controlled bass (mid-bass impact is a bit lighter), a clear and energetic midrange with lush vocals and great guitar bite, and a treble that’s energetic but not piercing—though it lacks some air and refinement for my taste. The stage is slightly below average in width but surprisingly deep, which makes complex recordings engaging. I also compare Alba to Moondrop Kato, ThieAudio Elixir, Sennheiser IE 200, and Simgot EA1000. When I factor in design, build, coherency, and overall value, Alba comes out as the clear winner at its current price, even if ergonomics and the included case aren’t perfect.
