We talk like real techs in the real world: what actually sticks, what fails, and why prep is everything. Darren’s big philosophy is “read the manual” (and yes, I’d rather watch the video), but the point is the same: follow the product instructions and you’ll stop chasing leaks. We get into why silicone is a no-go in Darren’s service trailer (his thumbnail test says it all), and why he’s a huge fan of “hateful” products that are hard to remove—because that’s what you want protecting your RV. We cover when I’d rely on butyl tape (especially when I control the whole repair like a window R&R) versus when I’d add sealant because I don’t know what’s behind a flange. Then we move to roofs—EPDM/TPO/fiberglass/aluminum—and hammer home the right cleaning and prep process, especially with Eternabond: clean, prime, apply, and pressure-roll it. Finally, Darren demonstrates the pro move: push the bead, don’t pull it, and don’t touch it once it’s laid down.
