Butyl tape is the “hateful” sticky stuff Darren and I both want behind flanges and screw lines—because that’s where water loves to sneak in. If I control the whole job (like a window R&R), tape is my water barrier and I don’t need to make a mess with redundant sealant.

- +Very sticky/tenacious (stays put)
- +Great around screw penetrations when installed correctly
