In this video I’m playing with a bunch of new-to-me makeup, but the main event is the Hannah Louise Poston x Salt New York collaboration. I open everything on camera and talk through the whole vibe of the collection—those beautifully desaturated, “mucky,” grayed-out browns and grayges that Hannah loves—while also sharing why I’ve loved Salt NY for years. Their creamy, emollient formulas are so user friendly, and I really appreciate the sustainable, refillable quad system (plus the zip-up palette is great for travel). I start with my usual skincare base (Merit Great Skin) and then layer the Jouer Luminizing Glow Serum in Sunlow for that sun-kissed glow, plus Tower 28 Serum Concealer for my dark circles. For complexion, I apply the Make Beauty Diffusion Dew Radiant Skin Tint the way I like to do skin tints—right in my palm like lotion—and I show how it gives me that beautiful skin finish with glow, without looking wet. Then we get into the Salt NY shades: Teasel is surprisingly wearable on my light-medium olive skin, Old Gum is a little too “native” on me (I’m on the fence), and Waxwing ends up being the surprise star—edgy in the pan, but really flattering on cheeks and lips. To pull everything together (especially with mature-skin concerns like looking washed out), I warm up the eyes with the Jouer Prêt à Porter Palette and those stunning Make Beauty multi-chromes (Glaze and Fusion). I finish with the Salt NY highlight Nimue—creamy, pretty, and more wearable than I expected—and share my final thoughts on what’s worth checking out.
