In this not-so-short vLog, I finally sit down (after first coffee, obviously) and explain who I am and what The Dive Wagon is actually trying to do. If you’ve been watching for a while and still aren’t sure what the point of all this is—fret not. I’m Kyle, based about an hour west of Toronto in Kitchener… yes, completely landlocked, which makes the whole “dive life” thing a little funny on paper. I break down how this all started: growing up with the Caribbean in my backyard in Venezuela, then moving to Colombia where diving officially entered the chat. In 2008 my dad and I got certified with Mauricio Gomez (MAO Diving), and from there the slippery slope happened—more trips, more dives, and eventually Master Diver by the time I graduated. Back in Canada, I worked for eight years at a local dive shop, soaking up everything I could about gear, service, sales, and what divers actually need. The core idea behind The Dive Wagon is simple: take as many parts of a brick-and-mortar dive shop as possible and put them in the palm of your hand—quick scuba tips, gear fixes, setup help, and answers when the shop is closed and your tank band decides to explode at 9 PM. Stage two is the dream: a literal dive shop on wheels that can roll up to a site, open the doors, and help keep you diving (and diving safely).
