In this O-ring tip, the regulator is basically my favorite “tool” because I use it to pressurize the system and help pop the old O-ring out safely. It’s also how I snug the new O-ring down and then leak-check before diving.

“hey guys here are just a few of my thoughts about some ways that we can support our local dive shops during this co-headlining teeny crisis how's it going guy buddies it is Kyle here and welcome back to the dye wagon I hope you are all well and healthy at home now I wanted to do just a quick video today on some things that we can maybe do from home that will help us support our local dive shops this is definitely uncharted territory for all of us and around the globe dive shops are having to temporarily close their doors either due to the local government kind of mandating closures or just because there isn't enough traffic coming through the door for now so as we are going through this weird and uncertain time I kind of put together a few different ideas that I thought would be some great ways for us to support our local dive shops so number one would be to interact with them on social media now I've seen a lot of this happening already this is great a lot of shops are posting some awesome content to keep their customers and their you know their community engaged so maybe consider commenting on their posts liking some of the posts and maybe even sharing them if you think they're very interesting and something that your local friends or your friend base would would enjoy or would learn something from this is a great way straight simple easy way to get keep engaged with your local community so another simple thing that you could do on social media is to give them a shout out so maybe you took a trip with them last year or a couple years ago and you've got some nice photos or maybe you can put together a video compilation of the trip so post that and then maybe tag the dive shop and then let them know if you're alright with it that they are able to share and and show that with their platform as well now another third simple way that we can support and encourage our dive shop is to just give us a review so maybe you've been associated with a certain dive shop you've been diving with these guys and you just haven't over the last few years taken the time to give them an official review so this can be Facebook or this can be on their Google listing and of course make sure it's an honest review and maybe take that time to encourage the staff let them know how great they are as well if you've got a great story from over the years on something amazing that they did for you guys that would be a great space to share that with the world and those three things are just ideas that don't cost you a penny you can just sit there on your phone shouldn't take you longer than a couple minutes and it just lets the shops know that we're all in this together you're there to encourage them and it just helps support them in a very special way but there are some other things you can do is that might cost a little bit of money if your shop has had to close most likely they are down in the basement they're down in the shop servicing all the gear that came in prior to the closure so as the dive season starts to approach wherever you are now might be a good time to get your gear in for service and this will definitely help the shops with a little bit of cash flow during this time as kind of a standard traffic isn't going through the shop it's something that you would have to do anyways but it also gives them something to do as the shops are slower but ya won't get generate a little bit of revenue for them so of course with this you want to call ahead you want to email them you want to contact a shop and you want to find a way to arrange for you to drop off your your tanks your regulator your B CDs whatever it is that you need to get serviced in a safe and a safe way I mean who really hasn't wanted to do a back alley scuba deal before so this would be a great opportunity to do such a thing now another way that you could support your local dive shop is to consider buying some gear a lot of shops over the years have begun developing an online store portion of their website this is a place where they can post you know clearances blowouts or just deals and stuff or equipment that they would typically stock in their store so this might be a great time for you to replace maybe that broken compass or maybe you wanted to get a new mass you know to freshen up things for the new season this would be a great way to support your local dive shops and you can do it all from the comfort of your couch and finally of course one last thing that you can do is simply stay in touch with them so whether it's giving them a phone call or shooting them a Facebook message if you're friends with them on Facebook or a quick email just to see how they're doing diving is such a community-based act and dive shots play a super big role in that so whether it's discussing you know a potential trip set what might be coming down the road or just getting excited with them about the local dive thing that is going to be coming up in a few months so we want our local dive shops to know that we are all in it together and that we're there to support them in any which way that we can so there you have it guys just a few different thoughts on some ways that we can be supporting our local dive shops in a number of different ways I'm super super curious in the comment section below I would love to hear from you guys on some different ideas some different ways that we can kind of rally together to support our local diving our local dive shops and just keep this local community this fire-lit you know this is not just a Canadian thing where it where I am here but this is a global thing so dive shops all around the world are dealing with the same challenges right now so let's let's I'm curious you know go to the comments if you've got any other options any other things that we can be doing be sure to share with the rest of us and I'd be happy to hear from you we will see you next time stay healthy and happy diving you [Music]”
