About This Video

In this video I kick off something new on The Dive Wagon: my first-ever dive site review. I head back to the old Dolime Quarry (also known as Glen Christie Quarry)—yes, the same quarry from my earlier vlog where I locked my car in and couldn’t get out after the dive. I break down the stuff that actually matters when you’re deciding if a site is worth your time: location, parking, water access, visibility, temperature, depth, training features, and what there is to see underwater. Dolime is in Ontario between Cambridge and Guelph, and for local divers the location is honestly perfect because there aren’t many quarries nearby with this kind of depth and vis. Most of the quarry sits around 30–40 ft, with a deeper section pushing about 90 ft depending on water levels. Shallow temps tend to be mid-60s to 70s, but the back/deeper area stays cold in the 40s–50s. Vis is usually solid—20 to 50 ft, and at peak it can be 50+. Access is private and currently handled through Groundhog Divers. There are no real amenities (no bathrooms, benches, or tables), but there are training aids like platforms, a buoyancy bar/ladder, and tons of cave line for drills. I wrap it all up with my snorkel rating: 4.5 out of 5—losing half a snorkel mainly because of the lack of amenities.
