About This Video

How’s it going dive buddies—Kyle here from The Dive Wagon. In this quick scuba tip video I’m talking tools: the stuff I actually recommend tossing into a save-a-dive kit so you don’t lose a dive over something simple or silly. The whole point is being able to fix little dive dilemmas on site and get right back out to diving, instead of watching everyone else splash while you’re stuck on shore. I run through about 10 tool ideas I like to keep around, starting with adjustable wrenches for swapping hoses, then Allen/hex keys for port plugs, valve inserts, and (if you know what you’re doing) intermediate pressure adjustments. I also show an intermediate pressure gauge for quick regulator troubleshooting on the surface, plus small stuff that saves the day like dental picks (careful—strong opinions there), chopsticks for O-rings, blades and side cutters for zip ties, and needle-nose pliers for stubborn HP swivel spools. I wrap it up with toothbrushes for grime, diver-specific tools (computer batteries, drysuit seals, zipper wax), and why a compact multi-tool is my go-to for travel. If you’re diving local out of a car, the sky’s the limit—travel is where small and multi-use wins.
