Then I hit the don’ts: don’t buy the cheapest thing just because it’s cheap, don’t buy online and expect your dive shop to fix it for free, don’t buy used basic “personal” gear like masks/snorkels (and often fins/boots) because fit and hygiene matter, don’t assume an “unused” reg from decades ago is good, and don’t forget there are plenty of safe, serviceable used deals out there if you shop smart.
