Today’s video is a little different from my usual wavy hair content, but it’s still very much in the “taking care of ourselves and enhancing our natural beauty” lane. I’m sharing my honest review of the Online Makeup Academy Master Makeup Program and what it’s actually been like doing the modules, the homework, and getting feedback from professional mentors. I’ve gotten way more into makeup over the last couple of years (some looks were… bold… and not always flattering, but we live and learn), and I wanted proper guidance beyond what I’ve picked up from social media. The course is split into eight modules (plus bonus modules) and covers things like sanitation, color matching, and color correcting—topics that don’t always get explained well online. I’m super busy (full-time teaching, filming/editing, and I’m even doing a data analyst course), so I love that there are no deadlines and you get lifetime access. I also really appreciated the high-quality videos with real skin texture—no filters—because that’s what skin looks like in real life. I walk you through my first homework assignment: natural look, then evening look (the one I’m wearing), and then a carbon smokey eye and red lip. Submitting homework was a bit clunky (five-file limit, no email confirmation), but my mentor’s feedback came within 24 hours and it was genuinely thorough and helpful—especially on where my smokey eye patchiness came from. Overall, I’m enjoying it and I think it’s valuable whether you’re a makeup enthusiast like me or aiming to go pro.
