It was one of those rainy, cloudy, cozy days where I was not leaving my pajamas… and I was also still sick (two weeks in, with a cough that will not quit). On top of that I’d slept about two or three hours, so naturally I decided that was the perfect time to cut my hair. In this video I try a DIY Sabrina Carpenter-inspired haircut using Paul Watts’ tutorial as my inspo—except I’m doing it without bangs and I’m not going super short in the front. I wanted something softer and more wearable for my wavy hair, so I aimed for subtle face-framing pieces around chin-ish length (so I can still tuck them behind my ears). I also mixed in my “beard haircut” technique to shape the back because I prefer a U-shape and didn’t want the back looking flat. I wasn’t being super perfectionist with sectioning (honestly, I was purely going off vibes), and I actually think that works in your favor if you wear your hair wavy because it’s more forgiving. The end result is a really subtle change, but it adds a bit more body and shape—plus I did a heatless set overnight to “honor Sabrina,” and checked in the next day to show how the cut was sitting.
