I completely forgot I even owned this curl rolling comb/styling brush thing, so in this video I’m doing true first impressions on my wavy hair—tutorial attempts, results… and yes, me getting more and more irritated as the minutes go on. I’d just washed my hair and it was weirdly hot, so my hair was drying fast and I had to keep spraying water to get enough slip. I styled with Bounce Curl (clump & define cream + light hold cream gel) and tried rolling sections through the brush, twisting at the top, and releasing. Some pieces looked “quite cute,” but I also managed to tangle myself up because I fully forgot the most basic rule: detangle from the ends, not the root. By the time I finished, I’d spent about 30 minutes on it, and I was already side-eyeing the whole process because my flip coat scrunch routine was sounding real good right about then. After diffusing, my hair looked a bit stringy, but honestly that can mean more definition for me—and it also gave me loads of volume. I scrunched out the cast using hairspray on my hands (no oil), and the final hair was bouncy and fluffy. My takeaway: I don’t really think the brush contributed much—my damp styling + lightweight hairspray did more—so for me, it wasn’t worth the time, but it was a fun test (and hopefully saves you your pennies).
