I started filming this mini vlog about a year ago, then life got in the way and I nearly forgot about it—so this video is basically me stitching it all together and adding a proper update at the end. It’s dark, rainy, windy, and I’m heading out to work… but the big thing is I’m putting a deposit down on my very first car at 28. I’m from North Wales (UK) but I live in Spain, and I’d just passed my theory test with full marks—in Spanish—which I was honestly so proud of. Even though I hadn’t had my first driving lesson yet, I wanted the car sorted so I wouldn’t pass my test and then lose confidence while waiting months to find one. Then you see how the whole driving journey actually went: the roller coaster of emotions, learning Monday to Friday, and being thrown onto the motorway way earlier than I expected. I talk about the anxiety, the perfectionist/people-pleaser pressure I put on myself, and why staying positive mattered. In the update, I share the reality: I failed three times and passed on my fourth try (20th of May), right before we moved somewhere with basically no public transport—so timing worked out perfectly. I also share the first solo drive (terrifying but so rewarding), a few car issues we had fixed under warranty, and how driving has given me so much freedom and independence.
