In this video I finally try the Bounce Curl Define Styling Brush on my wavy hair after wanting it for ages, and I test whether it’s actually worth the hype (and the €37 price tag) or if my usual Denman paddle gets basically the same results. I start by focusing on protein because I feel like I’ve been neglecting it lately—so I go all-in with a protein deep conditioner, then a protein shampoo + conditioner combo. I also chat through little wash day realities like checking if products have gone off, forgetting my scalp scrubber, and why my clumps always look insanely chunky when my hair is soaking wet in the shower. For styling, I copy an older routine that used to give me super defined, shiny, clumpy results, then I brush style with the Bounce Curl brush and compare it side-by-side with my Denman. My honest first impression: I really like the Bounce Curl brush for styling and it’s super easy (great for beginners), but the difference versus my Denman isn’t massive—maybe just a slight clump upgrade. The downside is it already traps a lot of shed hair, so cleaning could get annoying. After diffusing and scrunching out the cast, I loved my results—thicker, chunkier clumps—so I’ll definitely keep using it in future wash days to keep testing properly.
