In this video I’m checking out the Soran Tiny Stomp, and honestly it’s a really amazing bit of kit for how tiny it is. There are a few of these battery-powered mini multi‑effects units coming out now, but this one is heaps of fun (and yes, it kind of looks like a little Stormtrooper helmet). I run through what it actually does: 25 guitar amps using their DSM (Dynamic Spectrum Modeling), 125 built-in effects, up to 10 modules at once, 40 cab models, plus 10 slots for loading your own IRs. On top of that you’ve got 99 presets, stereo outputs, Bluetooth, phone/computer apps, and it works as a USB audio interface—which is exactly how you’re hearing it in the video. I play through a bunch of presets, call out that the pitch shifter tracking is very good, and then show my favorite part: how easy it is to drag-and-drop the effect order in the editor. Want modulation somewhere else? Just move it. Want to do the shoegazer thing? Drag the reverb out the front. I also demo the drum machine and the 40‑second looper—and the big win is you can sync the looper to the drum beats. Add in a tuner with bypass or mute, rechargeable battery power (about 4 hours), and even NAM profiles (I loaded a Matchless profile and a Victory V140), and it’s a complete little package you can just plug headphones into and go.
