About This Video

In this quick one, I’m basically doing a big thank you to MXR for sending over the MXR Iso-Brick Pro to power our YouTube pedalboard. And yeah—technically it’s sponsored because they sent it, but the whole point is I’m showing you why this thing is actually a killer solution when you’re running a mixed board. The thumbnail isn’t clickbait: it’s been absolutely fantastic for pairing and powering a bunch of different pedals cleanly and quietly. The Iso-Brick Pro has nine outputs and comes with a mountain of leads, so you can get a whole board up and running straight away. On my board it’s powering a tuner, a couple of standard 9V pedals, an 18V modulation pedal (which gives you that clean, sparkly headroom), and even a vintage delay that wants 12V—without adding noise. The little trick up its sleeve for me is the high-current output: 1.5 amps from a single output, which let me power an HX Stomp using the included lead plus a polarity flipper and a wider barrel adapter (because Line 6 made that barrel awkward). If you’re trying to power multi-FX or weird-voltage pedals in one tidy, mount-under-board setup, this one’s well worth a look.
