Quick disclaimers: Sirui sent me the 224 for evaluation, but I bought the 324 with my own money last summer, and this is my first tripod review—so definitely tell me what you want to see next. I break down the real-world differences: price (about $240 vs $200), height (60 in on the 324 vs 51 in on the 224, but the 224 hits about 61 in with the center column), weight, collapsed size, leg diameter (32 mm vs 25 mm), and most importantly load capacity (39 lb vs 11 lb). I also compare the heads (VA5X vs KV5): handle length, plate size, locking mechanisms, levelers, and usability stuff like the 224’s bowl/leveling flip lock, built-in Allen wrench in the plate, and that thumb-friendly flip-lock design. My takeaway: these are for two different people. If you’re running small mirrorless/GoPro-style setups and want compact + feature-rich, the L-224F is awesome—just respect the 11 lb limit. If you’re doing heavy cine or super-telephoto work like my C80 setup, the L-324F is the future-proof pick because it simply holds more and feels more heavy-duty.
