Sirui sent me the L-224F with the KV5 head for evaluation, and I get why people like it for smaller mirrorless and run-and-gun setups. It’s compact, feature-rich (center column, flip locks, bowl leveling), and even has an Allen wrench built into the plate—just make sure your rig stays under that 11 lb capacity.
Pros
+Lightweight (about 1,110 g tripod weight) and compact when collapsed (about 18.2 in)
+Center column can extend height and can be reversed/removed
+Flip-lock design is fast to open with your thumb
+Bowl adjustment with flip lock makes leveling quick and easy
+Allen wrench built into the plate for quick adjustments
Cons
-Lower load rating (about 11 lb) and can be outgrown with bigger cine rigs
-Plate uses a screw-down attachment and can have play if not tightened fully
-Handle cannot be swapped to the left side like the VA5X
-Panning can bump into the leveler (though the knob can be repositioned)
