About This Video

In this video I’m checking out the Donner Double Swords Rage Breaker (the pink one), which is a three-in-one, all-analog pedal that packs a boost, fuzz, and overdrive into one enclosure. Each section has its own footswitch and controls, so you can run them individually or stack all three. The big win here is simplicity: one cable in, one cable out, one power cable, and you’ve basically got a mini drive board without the extra patch cables and power taps. Tone-wise, the overdrive surprised me right away because it’s bright and has a lot of “clink,” and the gain knob doesn’t just add gain—it changes the character as you sweep it, which is honestly really cool. To my ears it lands more in “rock gain” territory than metal/djent, and it can get a little fizzy if you’re chasing super tight low-tuned stuff. The fuzz does the fuzzy things you’d expect, and I especially like it for that octave-chord ‘90s grunge vibe. The boost sounds good on its own, but it really shines stacked into the overdrive, adding highs and clarity to big open chords. I also show the fuzz dip switches on the back: one is a gain boost and the other is a bright switch.
