About This Video

SoundPeats sent me the Capsule 3 Pro to try, and since I recently reviewed the newer Capsule 3 Pro Plus, this video is basically a direct comparison from my own day-to-day use. They share the same small, pocket-friendly case and earbud design, with a magnetic lid that snaps shut and feels secure. Pricing is one of the big separators: the Capsule 3 Pro sits around $70, while the Pro Plus is closer to $90. The main difference is what’s going on inside and how that changes the tuning. The Capsule 3 Pro is a single dynamic driver setup, while the Pro Plus adds an advertised hybrid “xmems” driver, and in my experience that comes with a noticeable upper-treble lift. On the Pro Plus, that upper treble can add a bit of hiss/edge, especially if I listen louder, even though the overall signature isn’t “bright” and it still has plenty of low end. The Capsule 3 Pro avoids that upper-treble issue for me and lands closer to a typical Harman-ish TWS tuning, but I do hear a bit more energy around 5–6 kHz that can make things like snare hits come off harsher at times. I’m not the biggest ANC person, and I often use these at work at lower volumes for YouTube/streams (with proper hearing protection when needed). For comfort and convenience, both work well—but for pure music enjoyment, I’m still usually grabbing a wired IEM that’s often cheaper anyway.
