About This Video

In this video I review the CrinEar Daybreak IEMs ($170), Crinacle’s first full production-run release under the CrinEar name. I talk about why I think Daybreak is not only cheaper and easier to actually buy than Project Meta, but also an overall improvement—more refined in tuning, and a bit more polished in build and accessories. Big thanks to Crinacle for sending the set in for review. Daybreak is a tribrid (1DD + 2BA + 2 microplanar tweeters per side) aiming at that “new meta” style tuning. I go over the accessories (including the large leatherette magnetic case and the swappable-termination cable) and then spend most of the time on fit and tips—because the 6mm nozzle and the stock silicone tips can make the fit rough, which for me translated into a bit of treble edge. Once I swapped to SpinFit-style tips and especially the Hades/CNM-style tips, the whole set clicked: mostly neutral mids with a tasteful bass and treble lift—basically my ideal mild V/U shape. With the right tips, it’s comfortable for long sessions and stays controlled and snappy, and I’d personally pick it over sets like Dusk that cost more than double.
