About This Video

In this video I finally get around to reviewing the Truthear Pure, which is basically positioned as the successor (or at least the next step) after the super popular Truthear Hexa. It’s around $90, and the unboxing experience is very “Truthear”: same pocketable-but-kinda-awkward carrying pouch, two full sets of silicone tips in different styles, plus two foam tips. The Pure also upgrades the cable compared to older Truthear sets that liked to tangle—this one is closer to what you got with the Hola and Gate, just in silver. Build-wise the shells are Hexa-adjacent, but the faceplate has these little ridges for texture. That sounds cosmetic, but it became one of my biggest day-to-day issues because I sometimes wear one IEM and clip the other to my shirt collar—those ridges come to a sharper point and can poke my skin. Sound-wise, Pure keeps the Hexa “new meta” DNA (1DD + 3BA hybrid) but shifts warmer with more down-tilt. It’s fuller and more relaxed, doesn’t get bloated, and it’s a safer blind buy if you found Hexa a bit too treble-forward. It’s a well-tuned, low-fatigue, everyday-carry all-rounder that stays consistent at both low and high listening volumes.
