About This Video

In this video I review the Hidizs MK12 Turris, a single dynamic driver IEM with a big CNC metal shell and swappable nozzles for tuning changes. Hidizs is really marketing the 12mm magnesium “M-shaped” dome diaphragm, but I’m always more interested in how the tuning holds up in real listening. I go over the accessories (multiple tip sets, including their CNM tips), comfort, and the overall build. The shells are bulky and stick out of my ears, but the nozzles are small, and with the right tips I found them comfortable for long sessions. I also talk about what I didn’t love: the included pouch feels a little too “budget” for the price, and the stock cable is springy, tangles easily, and the ear hook shape didn’t sit right behind my ear. Sound-wise, I liked the MK12 overall even though it isn’t my exact preference. It leans warmer with more midbass and a bit of extra treble/ear gain—an older single-DD style, but more refined, with decent detail and separation and without getting shouty or shrill on the default setup. I compare the nozzle options too: the silver nozzle pushes treble/ear gain past my comfort, and the red nozzle gets too dark, bassy, and muddy. With the default gold nozzle and CNM tips (and ideally a different cable), it’s an enjoyable set—especially if you want that warmer midbass-forward tuning. I also cover the pricing: $130 early bird on Kickstarter (limited) versus around $200 later, where competition gets a lot tougher.
