About This Video

This review was long overdue because my first EW300 set literally got lost in shipping, but I finally got time with the Simgot EW300 and EW300 DSP. Both are ~$70 tribrid IEMs with smaller shells that fit comfortably, Simgot’s usual tips, and their nicer zip case. The look is a little “design-y” (X on the left, heart on the right), but in real life nobody cares—I've worn them at work on construction sites and not a single person mentioned it. The big feature is the swappable nozzles, because the nozzle choice is what takes these from “decent” to “one of the better options at the price” for me. Sound-wise, these are warmer sets overall and they don’t really do the Harman bass tuck—more of a gradual mid-bass slope. The DSP version is $10 more, and most of what it’s doing is cleaning up the top end (less peaky/metallic) and slightly improving sub-bass, which I actually like because it’s not using DSP as a crutch. For my ears, the silver nozzle’s more pronounced ear gain can make certain tracks harsh or artificial, so I strongly prefer the gold nozzle: it reduces that ear gain, comes across smoother and more natural, and makes it easier for me to just sink into the music. The DSP cable setup (DAC in the Y-split with a right-angle USB-C) is also a legit daily-driver win because I can plug straight into my phone and stop worrying about dongles.
