About This Video

I’m re-doing my CrinEar Meta review because I made a massive beginner mistake the first time: I reviewed it while I was sick, and my hearing was not normal. In that original video I called the Meta “glaring,” like it had too much ear gain around 3k, and I walked away pretty unimpressed. Now that I’m better, I don’t agree with those takes—so this is me doing it properly, even if it’s a little redundant since it sold out in about an hour. The CrinEar Meta is a $240 limited IEM (originally 500 units, with a larger second run planned). The unboxing is genuinely solid: silicone and foam tips, a nice swap-termination cable (3.5mm and 4.4mm), and a surprisingly serious waterproof hard case. Build-wise, the anodized aluminum shells are light but sturdy, and I love the matte black with copper accents. Sound-wise, tips make or break it for me. The stock tips don’t fit my ears well and push the treble into a slightly metallic edge, but swapping to SpinFit CP100 fixes it by letting the IEM sit deeper. With the right fit, the Meta’s “meta-ish” tuning with a bit more sub-bass and treble lands as a really fun U-shape. I end up preferring it over the Moondrop Dusk—better-defined bass, better attack, and treble that I actually enjoy.
