I wasn’t planning to cover another iPad keyboard case, but the Chersona Armor Dock Pro is different. It’s a full workstation with HDMI, SD card reader, passthrough charging, and even an M.2 SSD slot. Chersona sent me an early prototype for the iPad Pro 13-inch (M4), and after a couple of weeks it feels more like a compact dock than a standard keyboard case. It’s sturdy, opens to a good angle, and only needs a few tweaks before release. All the ports work as expected, the SSD appears in Files once formatted elsewhere, and PD passthrough keeps everything running from one cable. It gives the iPad a simple, focused workstation feel. About This Video

I honestly wasn’t planning to cover another iPad keyboard case, but the Chesona Armor Dock Pro has a little je ne sais quoi about it—because it’s not really “just” a keyboard case. In this video I test an early T0 prototype for the iPad Pro 13-inch (M4), and the whole point is simple: it’s a keyboard that can genuinely replace a USB‑C hub. You get HDMI (up to 4K 60Hz), USB‑C data with PD passthrough, an SD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and—here’s the sweet cherry on top—a built-in M.2 SSD slot. After a couple of weeks, I’m genuinely impressed with how workstation-like it feels. The build is solid (hard PC/ABS with TPU edges), the hinge opens to about 125 degrees, and the keyboard is familiar scissor-switch with 1.3mm travel—close to the Magic Keyboard, even if not quite as snappy. There are prototype niggles (a bit of hinge wobble, and I’d like the trackpad click to work all the way around), but Chesona say those will be fixed before retail. The big iPadOS reality check is storage: you still can’t format a brand-new SSD on the iPad, so you’ll need a laptop/desktop first. Once it’s formatted, it shows up in Files like any external drive, and having storage built into the case means no dongles, no dangling drives—just one connection and you’re off.
