I finally got my hands on the reMarkable Paper Pro Move, and this video is a proper unboxing + first impressions session—no big “final verdict” yet, just me setting it up, poking around the menus, and seeing what it feels like to actually use. I went for the Move with the Marker Plus and a Book Folio (and yes… I’m still slightly regretting not grabbing that cobalt blue). I talk about the price, why these distraction-free E‑Ink devices still make sense even when an iPad can “do more,” and I run through the basics: build quality, the magnetic pen attach/charge setup, responsiveness of the touch keyboard, and the general feel in-hand. Once I’m in the UI, I test brightness, orientation, tools (ballpoint, fineliner, marker, pencil, highlighter, shader, paintbrush), colour behaviour (including that little refresh/flash), selection/erase gestures, and a bunch of templates like checklists and planners. I also touch on the Connect subscription (about $2.99/month) because things like handwriting search live behind that, and I’m genuinely curious to see if it’s worth it long-term. The big takeaway from day one: this form factor is the magic. At 220g, it’s properly pocketable, comfortably holdable, and it finally fills a different slot in my life than my Kindle Scribe. For on-the-go notes, quick sketches, and (hopefully) daily journaling, it feels brilliant—and I’m keen to do deeper dives after I’ve lived with it a bit.
