In this video I unbox and test the Neewer CM28 Pro wireless mic kit in my usual “temporary setup” reality—no permanent studio, just me clearing the clutter and trying to get clean audio without making the whole process a faff. Neewer sent this set over, so I go through what’s in the box (and honestly… it’s basically every adapter under the sun), show the charging case, the two transmitters, and how the receiver setup works compared to what I’m used to with the DJI Mic 2. I run a few quick audio tests switching between the DJI Mic 2 and the CM28 Pro, with noise reduction on and off. My big takeaway: the Neewer sounded a lot better with noise reduction turned off, and if I needed NR I’d probably record clean and add it in editing instead. I also cover the practical bits people actually care about—4GB onboard storage (about 9 hours), battery life (around 8 hours per unit, plus 16 hours from the case), and the main downside: it’s more cumbersome to hook up to a phone than the DJI system because you’re relying on cables/rigging rather than a simple plug-in receiver. At roughly £100, it’s about half the price of the DJI Mic 2. Whether that trade-off is worth it comes down to how much you value quick setup versus saving the cash.
