In this video I unbox what I’m calling an iPhone 17 Pro Max “starter kit” from Pitaka: an ultra-slim aramid fibre case, a magnetic woven wallet, and a Qi2 MagSafe-style power bank. Quick honesty up front though—this isn’t a real iPhone 17 Pro Max in my hands. Pitaka sent me a dummy model so I can test fit and magnets, because I’m still not 100% sure I’m upgrading from my iPhone 16 Pro Max (even though that new, square camera sensor for landscape shots in portrait grip is very tempting). I go hands-on with the case first: it’s slim, light, MagSafe compatible, and has that “PitaTap” camera-control section so you’re not dealing with a big cut-out. The fit is snug, the camera bump gets proper protection, and Pitaka’s embedded magnets feel seriously strong. Then I check out the woven wallet—holds up to two cards, feels tough and doesn’t seem like it’ll bend or pop off easily. Finally, I test the 5,000mAh magnetic power bank: 15W wireless, 20W wired, with the usual real-world caveat that you won’t get the full advertised capacity wirelessly because… electricity, heat, and conversion losses.
