About three weeks ago I mentioned I’d received a BOOX Note Air 5C (and yes, tell me how I’m supposed to pronounce “BOOX” in the comments). In this video I’m not doing a full tablet review—I’m unboxing the Note Air 5C and, more importantly, the accessories: the updated stylus, the standard folio cover, and the keyboard cover I’d been waiting on because it sold out so quickly. The whole point here is figuring out whether these add-ons actually make sense if you want to type as much as you write on an E-Ink device. The regular folio cover genuinely impressed me: it’s well built, magnetized, has a nice soft interior, and the origami-style stand gives you a few solid viewing angles. The keyboard cover, on the other hand, is a bit of a mixed bag. The keyboard itself feels surprisingly nice—I'd call it a 7–8/10—with useful function keys (brightness, warmth, refresh, screenshot, split screen) and a strong magnetic connection to the tablet. But the pen situation is… annoying. The stylus feels better and more “pen-like” than the older one, but the cap magnet is weak, it popped off when I dropped it, and using the pen alongside the keyboard case feels awkward. For me, it’s a “pick a mode” setup: typing with the keyboard, or writing with the folio.
