Yes, your charging cable can now slice open an overly aggressive Amazon package and set fire to cotton buds. I break down what it actually does and, more importantly, who it’s really for. AOHi are pitching it as an EDC (everyday carry) item—basically everyday kit with a survival twist bolted on—and I can absolutely see the appeal if you’re into the multi‑tool/EDC scene or you just love showing your mates weird Kickstarter gadgets. But for most people, a normal cable and a cheap lighter will do the job without the awkward “airport security” conversation. In the end, I’m left asking the same question you are: genius… or gimmick?
