About This Video

In this May reading wrap-up, I’m honestly calling it what it turned into: a full-on book recommendation video. I read eight books in May, and none of them were under four stars… which is actually wild for me. I had such a versatile month too—YA fantasy, adult fantasy/dystopian, dark academia, romance, sci-fi, and general fiction—so if you’re in a slump or you want to mix up your TBR, this is a really good list to pull from. I break down what each book is about, what worked for me, and who I think should pick it up. I talk through the emotional, multi-timeline messiness of Broken Country, why I think Great Big Beautiful Life needs an open mind (and why I’d recommend reading it over audio), and the summer romance that fully wrecked me—in the best way—with One Golden Summer (my only five-star). We also get into the morally gray, Shakespeare-y dark academia vibe of If We Were Villains, the bingeable Bridgerton-but-make-it-fae YA fantasy The Rose Bargain, the mind-bending sci-fi ride Dark Matter, the punch-in-the-gut music love story May Luna, and the academy + enemies-to-lovers fun of Silver Elite. Basically: if you need new recs, I’ve got you.
