About This Video

In this video I’m flipping through my son Luca’s preschool/toddler morning binder (aka a busy book) and sharing a bunch of easy, hands-on learning ideas you can do at home. This is the last video in my 5-day Back to Homeschool Week series, and my whole goal with this binder is to teach through play—get their hands AND their brains moving—without it feeling like a big, formal lesson. I also share how I store everything (pencil pouch + little plastic baggies) so the pieces don’t end up everywhere. I walk you through what’s actually inside: a “I know my name” page, birthday page, a full calendar setup (month, year, season, weather, yesterday/today/tomorrow), number matching 1–10, apple counting, size concepts, sorting (donuts, fruits vs. veggies), shapes, alphabet matching (upper and lower), color matching (including secondary colors), sea creature puzzles, patterns, simple sequencing (“what comes next”), and my son’s favorite—an animal I-spy page where he circles and scribbles while I help count and write. At the end there are writing/tracing practice sheets, but for my two-year-old those are mostly just for scribbling right now. If you’re new to this, I always recommend starting with a couple free printables first, and if your kid is into it, then build out a full binder.
