About This Video

In this first video of my Back to Homeschool Week series, I’m sharing what my Pre-K 3 homeschool plans look like as I start dabbling in homeschooling my oldest (he’s turning three). I walk you through the different homeschool approaches that kept popping up in my research—like Montessori, unschooling, Charlotte Mason, and classical—and how I’m using an eclectic style because I just don’t believe in marrying myself to one method. Every kid is different, and I already know our rhythm will change as he grows. I also show you what’s inside my “mommy homeschool binder,” including my family timetable (a simple Google Sheet I made), the curriculum I picked for this year, and the planner pages I’m using to stay organized. The curriculum I chose is Gentle + Classical Preschool (ages 2–4), and I’m using it as the bones and foundation of our year—not something I’m trying to rush through. With a two-month-old baby at home, I’m keeping it flexible, leaning toward a year-round approach, and focusing on making learning feel positive. Finally, I share some of the hands-on pieces I’m most excited about—like the art and music pack, storyboards, letter-of-the-week pages, and memory cards for manners, character, simple math, and “all about me.” I also announce a giveaway to celebrate the series with homeschool tools and my Mini + Monte resources.
