In this review I take a close look at the brand new ThieAudio Oracle MKIII and explain why, to my ears, it brings the Oracle line back closer to what made the original Oracle OG so special. I go through the unboxing and accessories, talk about the medical-grade resin shells (they look mesmerizing), and cover the driver setup: six drivers per side with dual 10mm dynamics in an isobaric “Impact2” configuration, plus BAs and ESTs with a 4-way crossover. I also comment on the modular cable with 2.5/3.5/4.4mm interconnects, and the fit—ergonomic, but definitely on the large side, so small ears should take note. Sound-wise, I describe the Oracle MKIII as very realistic and natural, with a tasty amount of bass, a lush and detailed midrange, and a refined treble with a fantastic sense of air and texture. The bass is fast, tactile, and controlled with excellent sub-bass extension and authority, while the mids are dry, revealing, and quite upfront without turning shouty. My favorite part is the treble: sparkly and airy, yet not intrusive or harsh in my testing. I also compare it to Moondrop Variations and ThieAudio Hype 4, and in both cases I personally end up preferring the Oracle MKIII—especially for midrange and treble refinement, plus its big, three-dimensional staging and imaging.
