About This Video

In this video I review the brand new SIVGA Anser open-back headphones, starting with the unboxing and everything you get in the box: a detachable braided 3.5mm cable, a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter, and a pouch. I also go deep on design and build, because Anser immediately reminded me of an updated SIVGA Oriole I reviewed before. You’re getting a metal headband with improved padding (thicker, with fabric on the inside for better durability and sweat resistance), metal yokes with solid adjustment clicks, and wooden CNC-machined cups with an open metal mesh. Then I cover comfort and real-world usability. At 342g it still feels light on my head, clamp is average, and the 25mm-deep pads work well—especially if you have small to medium ears (my large ears almost fit fully inside). I also talk about the cable: it feels solid, but the fabric jacket makes it microphonic, so an aftermarket cable can be a smart upgrade. For sound, my impressions are subjective, but the main takeaway is this: Anser is relaxing, slightly warm, and “safe.” Bass is more about quality than quantity, mids are warm with some bass bleed, and treble is soft/rounded—great if you’re treble sensitive, but for my taste it lacks air and extension. Soundstage is average for an open-back, and resolution falls short versus some competition, but it’s a versatile all-rounder that can make poorer recordings more enjoyable.
