In this video I review the brand new SIMGOT EA1000 Fermat and answer the big question: is it a worthy upgrade over the EA500? I go through the unboxing and accessories first (including the interchangeable nozzles, storage case, and a genuinely fantastic stock cable), then I talk about the build and comfort. The EA1000 has beautiful full-metal shells and an interesting 1DD + passive radiator configuration, but for my ears the shorter nozzle makes the fit shallow with stock tips, so I needed different tips to get a proper seal. For sound, I mainly tested the silver nozzle with red rings because it gave me the most balanced tuning. The EA1000 is warm-neutral and generally follows a Harman-style target: punchy mid-bass, good extension, and a controlled, textured low end with the passive radiator adding rumble and body. The midrange is detailed and textured with a very well-behaved upper midrange, and the treble is energetic, airy, and detailed without sounding grainy. Technically, staging is above average with notable depth, imaging is solid, and detail retrieval is class-leading for the price. Finally, I compare it directly to the EA500. Even if the graphs look similar, the real-world difference is big: EA1000 is more refined, more detailed, less intrusive up top, and deeper in stage. I see it as the next logical upgrade from EA500—especially under $200 on sale—though for some people the price jump (and the fit) may be hard to justify.
