In this review I take a close look at the HIFIMAN TWS450 and explain why I think it’s one of the best budget true wireless earbuds you can buy in 2024. I go through the unboxing, design, and specs: Bluetooth 5.3, SBC/AAC (no aptX or LDAC—which is totally fair at around $39), IPX4, touch controls, and environmental noise cancellation (ENC). Battery life is about 5 hours on a charge, with roughly 20 hours total including the case. The biggest surprise for me is comfort and sound. The earbuds are tiny (3.5g each) and they basically disappear in my ears after about 10 minutes, even on the stock tips. Sound-wise they’re V-shaped with punchy bass that reaches deep enough for EDM, slightly recessed mids, and crisp, well-extended treble that can get a bit grainy at times. I also compare them to my long-term daily drivers—Sony WF-1000XM3 and Sennheiser Momentum TWS 2. Those flagships have better mics, ANC, apps, codecs, and accessories, but in pure performance-per-dollar, the TWS450 is hard to beat.
