About This Video

This video is all about the Insta360 GO 3—and yeah, that “insane” b-roll sequence you saw at the start was shot entirely on this tiny little camera. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve genuinely filmed more on the GO 3 than I’ve shot in the last three or four months combined, because it’s revived my love for going out and capturing things. The size and convenience are obvious, but what really surprised me is how many features on this thing just make sense for actually making cool shots fast. I break down the kinds of ambitious b-roll ideas I like to shoot—like a pitch-black setup where you only see hands—and how the GO 3 makes those shots easier than a “regular” camera. The Action Pod lets me live-preview, change settings, and play clips back, and the wild part is I can still preview wirelessly even when the camera is out of the pod. That’s what made fake drone-style boom pole shots on a bike trail actually doable. I also go deep on mountability: the magnetic quick release system is an absolute game changer, clamps are my favorite for match cuts and weird perspectives, and the pendant/hat clip/suction cup open up hands-free POV and creative angles. Then I talk stabilization (FlowState), 360 horizon lock, and reframing—shots that used to take me 15–30 minutes, I was getting first try. I mostly shoot FreeFrame (1440p 50fps) for the flexibility, and I even share that I was mind blown by the quality once I started editing it.
