About This Video

I’m redoing my entire studio. I’ve been in this space for a few months, and after spending a few days at my friend Dennis’s studio (38 Collective), I realized how much the vibe and layout actually matter. The goal here was simple: take this big concrete box (about 1,000 sq ft, minus the comically wide staircase, kitchenette, and massive bathroom) and turn it into a real, functional product video studio. The biggest change was flipping the layout so the backdrops move closer to the front, which instantly opens up the usable filming area and gives me way more depth depending on how I want to shoot (backdrops one direction, set builds the other). I also turned my gear shelf into a room divider and built a false wall with Baltic birch + trim to hide clutter and create a dedicated “gear closet” zone. Then I added the stuff that makes the space actually livable for clients and collaborators: a living room area with a rolling OLED TV for a client monitor, a snack/drink station, coat rack, better organization, and a bunch of quality stands/sandbags so I’m not constantly fighting my setup. The end result is a studio that’s faster to work in, nicer to be in, and way more inviting for shoots.
