About This Video

In this video, I’m sharing 6 science-based study methods that I’ve leaned on throughout basically my whole education journey (yes, I’m that “strategically lazy” student). The goal isn’t just to get good at answering exam questions — it’s to get good at learning how to learn, because these skills genuinely follow you for life. I walk through how to find the 20% of effort that gives you 80% of results, so you stop spending too much time on things that don’t move the needle. My biggest emphasis is on testing: practice papers, self-quizzing, flashcards — anything that forces active recall instead of rereading, highlighting, or endlessly summarising. I also explain spaced repetition (because the forgetting curve is real), and why you need to test yourself multiple times across different days to retain information. Then we go into the Protégé Effect (teach someone else to learn it better), deep engagement (actually being awake and interactive in class), and finally academic confidence — being super clear on what you know vs what you don’t, and drilling your weak areas. For me, studying smarter also means taking care of your basics like sleep, food, rest, and exercise so you can perform at your optimum best.
