Good morning you guys — in this video, Zach and I accidentally found the prettiest hidden local spot at Canyon Dam, Texas while we were killing time before the Guadalupe River Tube House opened (it only opens at 10am). We’d been driving around since 7am, so stumbling onto this little “hidden gem” around 8 felt sooo lucky. It was super serene, and the locals were honestly the sweetest — an old man literally told us to come here and swim, and we even saw someone finishing a swim with this big, very cute dog. We ended up swimming (and I was dead beat after), then just slowed down with a little picnic and soaked in the view. I also chatted with a local, Ginger (and her friend David), and hearing about her swim all the way to the buoy for almost an hour was wild — that’s next-level. They also pointed us toward a nature creek/nature trail that follows the river, so you get the best of both worlds: the dam views, the greenery, and that calm water vibe. After this peaceful morning reset, we headed back to our Airbnb, checked out, and made our way to Austin.
