Over the last few months I’ve received a pretty good amount of PR, and in this video I’m sharing what actually earned a spot in my real-life routine—skincare, body care, and fragrance—and what absolutely did not. I’m 56, I’m very selective, and if you’ve watched my empties you already know I tend to use the same things over and over again. So when something makes it in, it’s because it’s genuinely special, not because it’s trendy. I start with Cyklar, which is very “in the ether” right now, and I break down the perfume layering set: my clear #1 is Bergamot Bond (lush, green, forest-y but not pine), plus other winners like Sacred Santal, Vanilla Verve, and Lover’s Leather. I also share the four I didn’t like—Modern Patchouli, Flora Veil, Sex Musk, and Cedar Supreme—mostly because heavy, suffocating skin musks are just not for me. Then I move into Cyklar body care, including the very tenaciously-scented body washes and the standout body products: the fragrance-free Ceramide Milky Essence (a huge rave) and the 10% glycolic exfoliating body spray for bumps/ingrowns. Finally, I talk about “trendy” Dieux and how I was proven wrong—Deliverance serum and Instant Angel moisturizer are both gorgeous, fragrance-free, and really supportive for mature skin, especially if you use retinoids, vitamin C, or AHAs and need calming, barrier-friendly products in the mix.
