In this video I challenged myself to do a full face of makeup using only five products—because this time of year we’re traveling more, and honestly, the less you can have in your makeup bag, the better. I also feel like summer is when most of us lean into light, easy makeup, so this was all about a minimalist look, not perfection. I started with simple skincare prep (I rinsed with water, then used Mara Pearl Peptide Essence, and mixed Merit Great Skin Serum + Great Skin Moisturizer in my palms) so the makeup would sit nicely on mature skin. For complexion, I used the Fre Glow Me tinted moisturizer SPF 30 and applied it like lotion, making sure to get it under my eyes and down my neck since I wasn’t using concealer. Then I used RMS Hydra Bronzer in Tan Lines all over the face—and I discovered it works beautifully as a one-and-done eyeshadow too, including a little along the lower lash line. I added definition with Victoria Beckham Kajal in Cinnamon (a warm shimmer brown I use almost daily), finished lashes with Tower 28 brown mascara for that long, fluttery look, and pulled everything together with Merit Flush Balm in Cheeky on cheeks and lips. It was such a fun rediscovery of products I already love, and it’s a great formula for a pared-down travel kit.
