About This Video

In this chill behind-the-scenes stream, I’m basically showing you what my practice process actually looks like when I’m learning a song for the channel. I’ve been super busy lately (and yeah, I’ve missed a couple streams), so I wanted to do a makeup stream and let you see the real work: listening, transcribing, and practicing so the tutorials come out clean. I’m working on “All or Nothing” by Queen Naija featuring Ella Mai, and the record has layered guitars—at least two, maybe three—so I’m figuring out how to combine the main chord part with some of the extra double-stop slides and accents so it still sounds full on just one guitar. I walk you through the four-chord loop and the exact shapes: Abmaj9, G7#9, Bb/C, and Bb diminished/C (that super common R&B movement). Then I show how I’m adding little arpeggios and double-stop slides to capture some of what the other guitar layers are doing. The biggest takeaway is my #1 practice tip: don’t practice the whole thing when one spot is tripping you up—break it into segments, add a metronome (I use the free GuitarTuna app), and put reps into the exact transition that’s messing you up. Build muscle memory slowly, then stitch the sections back together so you can play smooth and in time.
